At Jacaranda College, we believe that education is not preparation for life – it is life itself. We aspire to lead out that what is already there in the mind and soul of our children. We teach that real knowledge, like anything of the highest value is not easily obtained. It must be worked for, studied for, fought for and more than all prayed for.
Aristotle said, “Excellence is an art won by training and habit. We do not act rightly because we have virtue or excellence, but we rather have those because we have acted rightly. We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit.” Childhood, as we knew it is disappearing. Today, more than ever, we need to educate children how to find balance, how to think laterally and logically, how to form and keep meaningful relationships and most importantly how to form their own and distinctive character and moral set of values. And this job is as much that of the school as it is that of parents.
We believe that our greatest obligation is to teach our children how to deal effectively with the world they live in, and not the world we have known, or prefer to have.
Every child has the right to feel valued, to be affirmed intelligent, to feel beautiful, and to be inspired. Every child must carry a badge of victory and hope. Children must be able to celebrate new beginnings while respecting and learning from the past. They should experience the unity and harmony that can be found in diversity. They should choose their own path in life. Should learn the fulfillment of taking responsibility and accountability for the consequence of their choices and enjoy the hope for new encounters and experiences.
Welcome to Jacaranda College where we believe that learning and education go far beyond a mere “A” on a school report.
